EDSE 380 Weekly Check-Ins/Intentional Focused Observations
Week 1 blog post: Name: Bradin Heaston Field experience from 9/16 Time spent: 8:52-10:30 (Economics 2nd period and Government 3rd) Sequence of events: -Got to class early to talk with teacher -Bell for first period to end rang at 8:48 and students began to enter class (Teacher has first period prep). -At 8:52 bell rings to signify the start of second period. -Teacher talks with students about what is going on in their lives for a few minutes before beginning lecture. -Lecture begins around 8:58 -Teacher lectures for 25-30 minutes over the topic of the demand. Multiple times during lecture teacher would stop to talk to students about any questions they had while also relating the material to their own lives - the last few minutes of class were used to work on packet that was given out a few days prior. -Period 1 concluded at 9:39 and second started at 9:43. -second period started with the teacher having the students look over all 27 amendments...
